Affiance No.1 beat Queenstown by 4 wkts in final
Affiance No1. SC defeated Queenstown SC by four wickets to win the final of the Headly Block Making, Talesh Furniture Store and Jai Jai trucking service twenty/20 cricket competition played on Sunday at Affiance No1. ground in Central Essequibo.
In a match reduced to 15 overs due to rain , Affiance No1. won the toss and asked Queenstown to take first strike in front of a large and colourful crowd.
Celwin Fraser with 26 and Randolph Martinborough 20 were there main run getters as they made 96 all-out in 1.5 overs.
Raeburn Gordon grabbed 3-9, Patrick Rooplall 2-10 and Ganesh Mangal 2-18 for the host.
Affiance No1. in reply scored 98-6 in 14.1 overs winning the game with 5 balls to spare.
Man of the match Raeburn Gordon returned with the bat to top scored with 35 while Ishwar Singh supported with 30 as national U-19 pacer Ronsfort Beaton grabbed 3-15 for Queenstown.
