The Leslie Amsterdam Memorial Under-17 Cricket Competition continued recently with Berbice Under-15 cricketer Jamal Henry slamming 166 for Edinburgh. His knock which included 16 fours and 4 sixes and which is the highest individual score in the competition so far, dominated his team’s first innings score of 214-4 declared against Mt Sinai.
When Mt Sinai replied, Edinburgh off-spinner Sham Persaud took 5-25 and then 5-18 to engineer their dismissals for 52 and 65 respectively as his team won by an innings and 97 runs.
Off-spinner Malvern Williams of Defenders took 9-21 from 15.4 overs to almost single-handedly bowl out Tucber Park B for 65 in their first innings.
After his team eked out a meager 22 run first innings lead, he came back in the second innings to take 3-17 from 16 overs (match bowling figures of 12 wickets for 38 runs) which together with 5-4 from left arm spinner Rodwell Mc Andrew saw Tucber Park B being bowled out for 43 in their second innings to lose by 9 wickets.
Pacer Orlando Tanner of Young Warriors took 7-5 runs from 5.1 overs to help dismiss Young Hustlers for 23 in their second innings as his team won by an inning and 88 runs. Medium pacer Shardat Harripaul took 7-15 from 7 overs.

At Edinburgh, Edinburgh beat Mt Sinai by an innings and 97 runs. Edinburgh 1st innings 214 for 4 declared with Jamal Henry 166. Mt Sinai 1st innings 52 with Sham Persaud 5 for 25 and 2nd innings 65 with Sham Persaud 5 for 18, Jamal Henry 3 for 3.
At the Berbice High School Ground, Defenders beat Tucber Park B by 9 wickets. Tucber Park B 1st innings 65 with Malvern Williams 9 for 21 and 2nd innings 43 with Rodwell Mc Andrew 5 for 4, Malvern Williams 3 for 17 and Dennis Williamson 2 for 9. Defenders 1st innings 87 with Chris Sulker 6 for 26, Judason Bess 2 for 11, Kierre Henry 2 for 27 and 2ns innings 23 for 1.
At Cumberland, Young Warriors beat Young Hustlers by an innings and 88 runs. Young Hustlers 1st innings 58 with Kwesi Parris 3 for 5, Jamal Parris 2 for 18 and 2nd innings 23 with Orlando Tanner 7 for 5, Totaram Sooknanan 2 for 6. Young Warriors 1st innings 169 for 4 declared with Hurdat Singh 40, Shimron Hetmyer 36, Quacy Kendall 36 N.O, Latchman Ramoutar 2 for 37.
At Lovely Lass, Achievers took first innings points from Paradise in their drawn match. Achievers 1st innings 189 with Samuel Adams 33, Phillip Reid 5 for 41, Eon Angus 3 for 18. Paradise 1st innings 49 with Clord Marks 5 for 20, Dellon Joseph 2 for 6, Sherwin Peterkin 2 for 13 and 2nd innings 41 for 9 with Shardat Harripaul 7 for 15.
