A man and a woman yesterday appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton, at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, to face the charges of possession of utensils used for the purpose of smoking cocaine.
It is alleged that on Tuesday, last, Doreen Azeez, who gave her address as Pike Street, Kitty, had in her possession an improvised glass pipe used to facilitate the smoking of cocaine.
Azeez pleaded not guilty and made application for bail.
It is also alleged that on the said day Donald Ramsammy, of David Street, Kitty, had in his possession a similar implement.
He also pleaded not guilty, and made application for bail.
The Police Prosecutor told the court that the defendants were arrested in a ‘drug yard’.
Though Azeez and Ramsammy were charged separately, they were both granted $25,000 bail each, and are expected to return to court on January 14, 2010.
