Vagrants inhabit Burnham Basketball Court
UNACCEPTABLE!!! This is certainly not the purpose of this lone western bleacher on the Burnham Basketball Court. This photograph, taken yesterday, indicates that vagrants have inhabited the solitary spectators’ stand.
The vagrants have made the bleacher their home and many spectators are forced to dwell among them during basketball events that are held on the court. The stand is basically the sleeping facility of more than ten vagrants.
The homeless men and women often use the facility at nights but yesterday the inclement weather forced many of them onto their cardboard beds during the day. The Government, who built the facility, should look into this matter. A closer look at the photograph will also reveal that the drainage beneath is clogged with garbage that include plastic bottles and paper. This definitely poses a health risk for the athletes who use the basketball court in various ways. (Edison Jefford)
