I was absolutely clueless about the behind the scenes production cost and no commercial offer available of carrying the Link Show 25 on a television broadcast as pointed out by the Producer in the SN report 3.20.2009.
Don’t despair, but with the 2010 production and a possible broadcast, the marketing committee might need to re-adjust their approach and see how best they might be able to persuade the Culture Ministry for it’s support of partial sponsorship. In doing so, the Ministry might also be in a much stronger position to pull in some of their financial supporters to help with this cultural venture, which I honestly believe is good family entertainment for Guyana.
A beverage company could also be approached for their input and one never knows, but you might get a positive feedback especially with much advance notice.
Organise a raffle with some “to die for prizes” before the end of 2009 and am certain that you will be able to foot part of the production cost that is required with support coming elsewhere. I say this because it could be a turn off in seeking support and full sponsorship and not making an effort to offset part of the cost of any project.
The following is definitely pre-mature to consider, but in 2010, the Link Show committee could also tap into the two-three days celebrations of “Moruca Day.”
I will now settle for missing LS 25, but “Howie do it” will make up for that.
