Pele’s Captain Shemroy Arthur (3rd left) jostles for possession with a GFC player in their Milo U-21 match on Tuesday at the Camptown ground.
Competition in the Milo under-21 league continued on Tuesday afternoon at the Camptown ground in Campbellville with Pele marching to a 3-1 win over Georgetown Football Club.
Two matches were slated for the Tucville ground, but the Guyana Power & Light Company had the final say as black out, which hit the first game in the second half, ended the night abruptly. Black Pearl, were ahead 1-0.
At the Camptown ground, Pele with goals either side of play continued their excellent form in the competition.
Okeny Fraser opened the scoring 15 minutes into the match and that advantage was doubled in the 24th minute through a Sheldon Holder goal. The deal was sealed beyond any doubt 45 minutes on, but GFC were able to pull one back five minutes later.
Pele, featuring a number of players who ply their trade at the Premier League level including Captain Shemroy Arthur marshalling defence, controlled the game offensively and defensively dictating the pace of the match at will.
The league is interestingly poised with teams on the brink of qualifying for the knock-out stage.
