After being held by the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) two weeks ago in connection with 30 gallons of stolen fuel, Lance Corporal 1711, Royston Leitch, is still being detained, without charges being laid against him.
Sources have said that Leitch is released from custody every 72 hours, only to be rearrested and held for another 72 hours.
The fuel was discovered in the possession of a kitchen staff of Camp Ayanganna, who, when questioned, said that Leitch had sold him the fuel some time before. Leitch was subsequently arrested at his home in Sophia two weeks ago, and is presently being held at Camp Ayanganna.
