Dear Editor,
It is a truism that good presentation should not be an occasional act, but that of a permanent attitude. It sometimes gives impetus to our elevation in various spheres of society.
Today it remains a sad spectre to see in many public offices, the poor culture surrounding the ‘dress code’, that leaves much to be desired, thus at times tarnishing the entire image of the institution.
It is therefore imperative that persons in managerial and supervisory positions set high standards in this regard, so that those immediately unclear can emulate.
If this pattern is allowed a reverse course, then indiscipline and disrespect will gain root and proper coordination will cease to exist, thus impeding the progressive growth of any institutions.
In many cases employers find it very distasteful to send some of their workers on errands to other institutions due to an absence of proper presentation we also find that even on the ‘Local dancing floor’ wives have departed from their husbands who has a deficient clause in this respect. In other instances applicants have been turned down due to improper dressing.
We have also learnt that on the spot promotion is sometimes given in the military to the ‘slick; in respect of good presentation.
When we examine the magnitude of lectures given to us by those in the well-cultured world, about the aspect of presentation, it still remains a mystery today, why much credence is still not paid to such possessive treasure.
So generally speaking, no employer or those placed in authoritative position, should allow this condition to deteriorate, and they should continue to set high standards, which in itself is a glorious achievement.
In concluding it is right for us to say that man has advanced in technology, but the old school of thought is still a basic prerequisite for our advancement in the field of good presentation.
