Courtland All Star Cricket Club of Courtland Village on the Corentyne will stage a 20/20 cricket competition on Sunday and Monday December 21 and 22 at the area ground.
Several teams from the Berbice area have been invited to compete alongside the host. The winner of the competition will collect US$100 with $50 to the runner-up, while several individual prizes will also be up for grabs.
According to Sports Representative Erwin Crandon, the preliminary rounds will be played on Sunday with the eventual winners advancing to the final set for Monday.
The teams invited are: Kimbia Crushers and Friendship Cavaliers of the Berbice River, Uprising of the Canje River, Showtime and Young Strikers of Baracarra in the Canje River, along with New Amsterdam teams Mental and Bermine, Chesney and No.19 of the Corentyne.
