Wazeer Mohamed hit an unbeaten half century as his team All Star defeated Sarah by 85 runs in the DDL 15-over round robin softball cricket competition at Sewram’s tarmac in Belle Plaine Wakenaam.
Mohamed’s 83 (4×6, 5×4) was the backbone of his team’s innings as they chalked up 154 – 4 off their allotted 15 overs. He was supported by Skipper Mustak Mohamed who made 29.
Off spinner Somnauth Persaud picked up 3 – 13 off 3 overs for Sarah who in reply were bundled out for a paltry 66 in 9 overs. Dilip Persaud 20 and Narendra Bhagpattie 12 were the only batsmen to reach double figures. Moses Ramnarine, Khemraj Surajpaul and Gurnauth Khemraj picked up 2 wickets each for the winners.
In other matches played, Belle Plaine, Maria’s Pleasure and Sarah also recorded victories.

Match # 4 – Sarah defeated Seashore by 40 runs. Sarah 145 – 9 in 15 overs. (Narendra Bhagpattie 40 , Somnauth Persaud 35, Jairam Ramdeen 3 – 15, Tulsieram Ramdeen 3 – 18 , Sean Ramrattan 3 – 22). Sea Shore 105 all out in 13 overs (Zameer Zaman 25, Prakash Narine 24, Melvorne Daniels 2 – 20, Govinda Persaud 2 – 22).
