AK-47, pistol and ammo. seized at Ulverston, Corentyne
Weapons and ammunition seized during the operation.
(Kaieteur News) – Ranks of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) on Tuesday discovered and seized a number of firearms and ammunition during an operation at Ulverston Village, Corentyne, Berbice.
The ranks, acting on information linked to recent robberies in Rose Hall Town, Corentyne, arrested a 21-year-old construction worker from Alness Village, Corentyne.
During the operation, police searched a location in Ulverston Village and found a cutlass sack hanging from a tamarind tree on an empty plot. In the sack were a 9mm pistol with four matching rounds, an AK-47 rifle with seventeen matching 7.62 rounds, and a pair of gloves.
The construction worker was taken to the Rose Hall Town Police Station, where the firearms and ammunition were lodged.
