Vendor arrested over ganja possession
(Kaieteur News) – A vendor is now in police custody after a search was conducted and approximately four pounds of marijuana was found on Tuesday at Ruimveldt Public Road, in the vicinity of Massy Supermarket.
The marijuana police discovered being weighed.
In a statement on Wednesday, police said an investigation has been launched into the matter.
“Ranks, acting on information, carried out an intelligence-led operation in the area where they contacted a 28-year-old male vendor of River View, Ruimveldt. During the exercise, a search was conducted, and one black plastic bag containing a quantity of suspected narcotics was found,” police said.
The vendor was placed under arrest and escorted to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) headquarters, where the narcotics were weighed in his presence and totaled four pounds, before being lodged.
He remains in custody as the investigations continue.
