Couple charged with marijuana trafficking released on bail
(Kaieteur News) – A common-law couple, Joseph Mohanlall and Candy Lambert charged with the possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking has been released on $1 million bail each.
The couple who resides at Lot 14 Bel Air Road, Lamaha Gardens, appeared on Friday at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Faith McGusty.

They both pleaded not guilty to the offence. Their lawyer, Bernard DaSilva made an application for bail and it was granted. The drug trafficking case against them have been adjourned until 16th October, 2026 for disclosure.
Mohanlall and Lambert are being accused of trafficking marijuana by the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU). CANU alleges that its ranks found some 29.5 Kilograms of cannabis at the couple’s home on 6th September, 2026.
