Victoria man killed during fight at Toroparo Backdam
(Kaieteur News) – Police are investigating the alleged murder of Sceon Elias, a 46-year-old miner of Victoria Village, East Coast Demerara, which occurred on Sunday at Toroparo Backdam, Middle Mazaruni River.

Preliminary investigations revealed that at about 17:40hrs, Elias was allegedly wounded during an incident involving a 46-year-old miner of Four Miles, Bartica.
Elias was subsequently taken to a medical facility at Toroparo, where he was treated for a laceration to his head. He was later transferred to the Bartica Regional Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries about 09:30hrs on Wednesday. The suspect is presently in police custody assisting with the investigation. Investigations are ongoing.
