British man flees Guyana after allegedly scamming Guyanese $145M
…had promised to construct homes for four clients
(Kaieteur News) – A British national, Hardeep Singh is reportedly on the run after allegedly defrauding four persons out of $145 million at Guyana Building Expo 2024.

Singh last known addresses have been listed as: 112 Bonasika Street Section ‘K’ Campbelleville Georgetown and 45 Great West Road, Hounslow TW5 ODG, England. Reports are that he fled Guyana with millions he collected from persons he met at the building expo promising to construct homes for them.
Police told Kaieteur News that he operates as the Chief Executive Officer of Modular Builds Guyana Inc. A background check of the company by Kaieteur News revealed that it operates out of a fabrication building just off one of the roundabouts along the Heroes Highway. The company advertises that it specialises in prefab buildings and steel construction using a factory set-up at the location with state-of-the-art machines.

Police said that the CEO, Singh participated in the recently held Building Expo where he presented himself as the person who conducts business on behalf of Modular Builds Guyana Inc. Four out of the number of persons who visited his booth reported to police that they entered into written deals and agreement with him for the construction of their properties.

One of them advanced a sum of $28 million for four two-bedroom apartments but his company only erected the columns and laid 100 blocks. Another advanced $50 million for an 11-storey apartment building but the British national allegedly only delivered four truckloads of sand on the client’s land.
A third individual advanced $22 million for the company to build a three-floor model commercial building but only minor works were done. The fourth client advanced $45 million for a three-storey apartment complex but only about 15 percent of works were done. A short while later the Modular Builds Guyana Inc. CEO disappeared. Police said that they received information that he has fled the country and is presently in the United Kingdom. Investigations are in progress.
