(Kaieteur News) – The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) has expressed its deepest condolences to the people and government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela following a series of devastating earthquakes that struck the country on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, claiming lives, injuring scores, and causing widespread destruction to homes and infrastructure.

In a message of solidarity on Thursday, CARICOM acknowledged the scale of the tragedy and conveyed prayers for the recovery of all those injured or displaced by the disaster.
“We stand in solidarity with the people of Venezuela during this time of immense grief and offer prayers for a swift recovery to the injured and displaced,” CARICOM said.
The regional body commended the courage and dedication of emergency personnel, first responders, and ordinary citizens working under extraordinarily difficult conditions to rescue survivors and deliver urgent humanitarian assistance.
CARICOM called on the spirit of resilience that has defined the Venezuelan people as the country faces the long and difficult road of recovery and reconstruction ahead.
