Bids opened for renovation of Wiruni Nursery, Kwakwani Primary School extension
(Kaieteur News) – Bids were recently opened at the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB) for the renovation of the Wiruni Nursery School and the construction of an additional block at Kwakwani Primary School, Region 10.
The projects form part of the Regional Democratic Council’s (RDC) planned expenditure from its $10.1B allocation in this year’s national budget.
Twenty-one contractors submitted bids for the construction of the new block at Kwakwani Primary School, and 18 are vying for the contract to renovate the Wiruni Nursery School.
According to the RDC’s initial advertisement, the renovation of Wiruni Nursery School carries an estimated cost of $29.9M, while the construction of the additional block at Kwakwani Primary School is pegged at $64.9M.
A third project was also tendered — the extension of buildings and the construction of a concrete and chain-link fence, along with a walkway at Kwakwani Park Nursery School. That project is estimated at $24M.
Combined, the three infrastructure projects represent an investment of approximately $118.8M in the educational development of Region 10.
