Police destroy marijuana farm at Kimbia
(Kaieteur News) – Police have destroyed approximately three acres of marijuana farm at Kimbia, Berbice during an exercise, between Thursday, May 28, 2026, and Friday, May 29, 2026.
The farm before it was destroyed.
In a statement police said that during the exercise, one field with a combined area of approximately three acres was located, on which approximately five thousand (5,000) cannabis plants were discovered.
“The cannabis plants were uprooted and destroyed by fire. No arrests were made and the operation was conducted without incident. The estimated value of the narcotics destroyed is eight hundred and forty-seven thousand dollars ($847,000) Guyana currency,” police said.
Investigations are ongoing.
