(Kaieteur News) – An inmate identified by the Guyana Prison Service (GPS) as Adrian Damder, escaped from the Lusignan Prison on Sunday, after he scaled the fence, sources have confirmed.
This publication was reliably informed that the inmate was taken into the yard to carry out some work, in the presence of high-ranking officials and other ranks. In a matter of minutes, attention was taken off Damder, who managed to slip away, and made good his escape. On discovering the man was missing, the CCTV footage was examined and he was observed committing the act.
In a bulletin published on Monday, the prison service said his last known address is listed as Lot 44 Graham Street, Better Hope, East Coast Demerara. He was incarcerated for using threatening language.
The GPS is asking anyone with information that could lead to his recapture to make contact with the nearest police station, or the Director of Prisons on +592-613-6616 or the Officer-in-Charge of Lusignan Prison on +592-623-7156.

Perhaps- the Guyana Prison Service should seriously consider this deterrent
to stem the breakouts at this particular prison, since it’s been too frequent.
I suggest INSTAL- LOW VOLTAGE ELECTRIFIED FENCE ALL AROUND THE
PRISON PERIMETER- WITH POSTED SIGNS : ELECTRIFIED FENCE.
That should keep those Fence Jumpers at bay.
Nobody was keeping an eye on this latest fence jumper. They had to check
the CCTV monitor.
