(Kaieteur News) – A Spanish speaking woman is claiming that police have sided with her ex-partner after he allegedly beat her- up, stripped her naked and threw her out of her own apartment on Sunday.
According to reports, the Venezuelan national works as a security guard and resides on Princess Street. She was living together with a Guyanese man identified as Richard (full name withheld) but ended the relationship some three months ago.
Since then, the ex-partner has reportedly been stalking her and making her life “a living hell” over household appliances – some of which she had purchased while they were together.
The woman alleged that throughout the three months not only would the ex-partner show up at her apartment and workplace to threaten and verbally abuse her, but she would receive threats from his relatives especially his mother. She said on Sunday tensions boiled over.
“On Sunday morning me come home from work and meet he at me house drunk”, the woman said as she recalled deciding to let him in the house.
She explained that she had grown frustrated and told him he could rest a bit before taking all household items that belong to him.
She believed that it would have been the end of the stalking and verbal abuse, however, when it was time for him to go, he refused to leave and gave her a brutal beating.
Showing Kaieteur News the black and blue marks and scars she sustained from the beating she said, “Nunca me han hecho algo asi, ni el papa de mis hijos (No-one has ever done something like this to me before, not even the father of my children.”
According to the woman, she was stripped naked and thrown out of her own apartment by the ex-partner. After receiving some assistance, she reported the matter at a police outpost in Alberttown.
She alleged that police took her report and detained the abuser, but later returned with him and emptied her apartment of all her household appliances including a freezer and other items she had allegedly bought with her own money.
The ex-partner has reportedly walked free and the police ranks have reportedly given her no explanation as to why they emptied her apartment.
“Me feel me na get no justice”, she said while adding that she now fears for her life because he continues to stalk her.
Moreover, the threats from her alleged abuser’s mother have raised questions.
In one of the voice-notes she sent to the woman, she was heard claiming that she has connections in the police force and will use those connections to empty the woman’s apartment of everything that was purchase when she and the alleged abuser were in a relationship.
She was heard too claiming that she will use those connections to have the Spanish speaking woman deported from Guyana.
Her exact words were, “Le me tell you little dutty s***t, a reaching down deh and a gonna find that lady in Princess Street (the Spanish-Speaking woman’s landlord) and when I pick-up my sergeant family from Eve Leary, everything gonna come out your house…”
