(Kaieteur News) – On April 21, 2026, April 27, 2026, and April 29, 2026, Kaieteur News published three publications concerning Mr. Devindra Kissoon (the“Articles”) which alleged or insinuated that he acted simultaneously for the Government of Guyana and for the Lindsayca-CH4 contractor on the Gas-to-Energy Project; drafted, settled, or “helped author” the dispute-resolution and arbitration clauses of the Gas-to-Energy contract; operated under a conflict-of-interest waiver; enjoyed “ultimate insider status” at the Ministry of Natural Resources; was retained by CH4 and the Lindsayca-CH4 consortium “since 2021”; was paid by both sides of the same dispute; orchestrated a sham settlement against the public interest; and lent his name and AMCHAM standing to enable a foreign consortium to deceive Guyanese officials.
Each of those allegations is untrue and is unreservedly retracted.
Mr. Kissoon has never acted for the Government on the Gas-to-Energy Project. On April 23, 2025, Kaieteur News itself published the official list of the Government’s lawyers on the Gas-to-Energy arbitration, and Mr. Kissoon was not among them. He did not draft, settle, or contribute to any provision of the Gas-to-Energy contract and never had sight of it; he has never operated under any conflict-of-interest waiver; he has never been involved in any DAAB or arbitration proceedings on the project; he holds no “insider status” at the Ministry of Natural Resources; and he has never been the subject of any complaint, investigation, or finding of professional misconduct, conflict of interest, dishonesty, or corruption.
The articles ought never to have been written or published. Kaieteur News and Mr. Glenn Lall apologise unreservedly to Mr. Kissoon for the harm caused to his personal and professional reputation. The articles have been permanently removed from our print edition (so far as in our control), our website, and our Facebook page, together with all photographs of Mr. Kissoon, and we will not republish them.

(Kaieteur News) – If ever there was a case of putting the cart before the horse, and then charging the horse for loitering, we now have one.
