Guyanese beauty, Netu Lall is Miss Toronto 2026

(Kaieteur News) – Guyanese beauty Netu Lall continues to make her mark on the international pageant stage after capturing the title of Miss Toronto 2026 at the recently concluded Crown City Pageant in Toronto, Canada. Known for her poise, confidence, and passion for advocacy, Lall has steadily built a reputation as a young leader within the pageant community. She previously represented Guyana internationally as Miss Teen India Guyana, earning the first runner-up position and the Miss Congeniality award at the global pageant stage.

She told this publication “I am the first Guyanese-born woman to carry the title of Miss Toronto, and I will be representing the city at Miss Canada 2026, happening in July of this year in Vancouver, British Colombia, Canada.”

For the pageant, Lal said she wanted to take a piece of Guyana with me on the stage so I wore an evening gown by a Guyanese designer, Randy Madray.

“I also performed a dance to a Bollywood-Chutney Remix in hopes of introducing the audience to West Indian Culture. Thus, scoring full points in the talent, interview & catwalk segments,” she said.

The Miss Teen India Guyana & Miss Teen India Worldwide 2023 – 1st Runner Up continues to lead with purpose through her mental wellness platform, Beyond The Lens, redefining advocacy through creativity, compassion, and community connection. Her work centers on creating accessible, safe spaces where individuals particularly women and creatives are empowered to reconnect with themselves, heal, and feel seen.

The beauty queen has curated impactful initiatives that place mental well-being at the forefront. Her Candlelit Yoga Session offered participants a restorative experience rooted in mindfulness, reflection, and emotional release, fostering calm in an increasingly fast-paced world. She further expanded her outreach through an Art Therapy Workshop, using creative expression as a powerful tool for emotional processing, self-discovery, and confidence-building.

Committed to service beyond conversation, Netu also led a Self-Care Drive for a Women’s Shelter, ensuring that essential wellness items reached women navigating transitional and vulnerable circumstances, reinforcing the importance of dignity, care, and emotional support.

A poet at heart, Lall amplifies her advocacy through spoken word. Performing at a poetry event in Toronto, she explored themes of vulnerability, resilience, and self-worth, sparking meaningful dialogue and fostering connection through shared lived experiences. Her words serve not only as expression, but as invitation-encouraging openness, empathy, and healing.

Lall’s impact has extended beyond borders as well. Through her participation in a charity fashion show supporting flood relief efforts in Sri Lanka, she demonstrated how purpose-driven leadership within creative industries can transform visibility into tangible aid for communities in crisis.
