Two-time Grammy award winning singer Melanie Fiona is keynote speaker at WeLead Women’s Leadership Conference
(Kaieteur News) – The We Lead Association in partnership with BB Energy Foundation has announced that two-time Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, and creative entrepreneur Melanie Fiona will serve as the keynote speaker for the We Lead Women’s Leadership Conference 2026, a major gathering of women leaders, entrepreneurs, and change makers from across Guyana and the Caribbean.
The conference will take place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 9:00 AM at the Pegasus Suites and Corporate Centre in Georgetown, bringing together influential voices from business, leadership, entrepreneurship, and public life for a day of meaningful conversations, networking, and inspiration.
Two time Grammy Awards, Melanie Fiona
Melanie Fiona rose to international acclaim with her 2009 debut album The Bridge, which introduced her powerful blend of soulful melodies and deeply personal storytelling. The album’s breakout single “It Kills Me” spent nine weeks at number one on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop chart and earned her first Grammy nomination. Her follow-up album The MF Life further solidified her place in contemporary R&B with standout tracks including “4 AM” and “Wrong Side of a Love Song.”
Throughout her career, Fiona who is of Guyanese descent has earned global recognition for her artistry, including two Grammy Awards for Best Traditional R&B Performance and Best R&B Song for the hit collaboration “Fool For You.”
Beyond her music career, Fiona has expanded her influence as a creative entrepreneur, storyteller, and wellness advocate, using her platform to explore themes of authenticity, healing, and personal transformation. She is also a co-host of the popular parenting podcast The Mama’s Den, where she shares candid conversations about motherhood, identity, and growth. Her keynote conversation at the WeLead Conference will reflect on resilience, creativity, and the journey of building influence while navigating global industries as a woman.
