(Kaieteur News) – A 17-year-old labourer will spend the next two years behind bars for robbing a Chinese businessman on Sunday, January 11, at lot 23 Zorg Public Road, Essequibo Coast, Region Two. His accomplice, identified as 26-year-old Anthony Scott called “Bowman” was remanded.
The teen identified as Kevin James of Onderneeming Sandpit; Essequibo Coast reportedly pleaded guilty to robbery underarms when he appeared at the Anna Regina Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
He was sentenced to two years and three months behind bars by Magistrate Tariq Mohamed.
Meanwhile, his alleged accomplice who also appeared at the Anna Regina Magistrate Court on Friday, he pleaded not guilty, and was remanded to prison until February 20, 2025
James was on the run but was nabbed at Bartica, Region Seven on Wednesday January, 23. Police did not divulge any details about when and where the alleged accomplice was arrested.
