(Kaieteur News) – Demerara Bank Limited (DBL), Guyana’s only 100% locally owned commercial bank, has launched a ‘Switch Your Mortgage’ promotion where it is removing every barrier that has kept homeowners tied to costly and outdated mortgage arrangement.
In a press release, the bank said that the promotion will also transform this Christmas into the perfect opportunity for financial freedom.
“For the first time in Guyana, customers can transfer their mortgage from any financial institution to Demerara Bank at absolutely no cost. The Bank will cover 100% of all legal fees, court filing fees, and processing costs, allowing customers to switch freely and with complete confidence. There are no hidden charges, no external attorney visits, and no long delays,” the statement said.
The bank said that customers who switch will also benefit from a market-leading 5% mortgage interest rate, repayment terms of up to 30 years, and a fast approval turnaround of just 48 to 72 hours. “The process is designed to be seamless, efficient, and stress-free saving customers both time and money,” the bank assured.
Further, the bank says the promotion goes beyond a mortgage and offers every approved customer the opportunity to qualify for a “complete financial upgrade package” which includes:
“This powerful product bundle offers families unmatched financial flexibility enabling homeowners not only to refinance their mortgage but also to furnish their homes, upgrade their vehicles, and manage everyday expenses with ease all through one trusted bank. It’s more than refinancing; it’s a financial reset built around real goals, real families, and real peace of mind.”
The bank said that for nearly three decades, it has stood at the center of Guyana’s housing and national development noting that the Switch Your Mortgage Campaign is “a powerful extension of that commitment a clear demonstration that Demerara Bank listens, innovates, and delivers solutions that truly matter.”
“Our mission has always been to make home ownership easier and more affordable for every Guyanese,” said the Chief Executive Officer of Demerara Bank Limited Dowlat Parbu. “This promotion is our way of saying you don’t have to stay where you are if it’s no longer serving you. We’ll handle your fees, simplify the process, and ensure a fast, secure, and worry-free transition.”
The bank said it is proving that it is a bank that offers not just loans, but lifelong financial relationships built on trust, accessibility, and genuine care. “Homeownership is more than a transaction. It is a dream, a legacy, and a responsibility that shapes a family’s future. At DBL, customers are not treated as numbers they are treated as people: parents, teachers, entrepreneurs, dreamers. Every step of the journey is guided by a dedicated and knowledgeable team that puts customers first.”
Customers who make the switch will benefit from Zero Legal Fees, Zero Court Filing Fees, Zero Processing Fees, 5% Mortgage Interest Rate, Up to 30-Year Repayment Term, 48–72 Hour Approvals, 7% Car Loan, Visa Credit Card & Consumer Loan Included.
