It was a ‘Hero’s Welcome’ for bodybuilder Rosanna Fung.

Kaieteur Sports – Guyana’s top female bodybuilder, Rosanna Fung, received a hero’s welcome on Saturday night at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport following her historic win at the IFBB World Championship, held during the prestigious Binous Classics in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Fung, competing in the Wellness category, delivered a stunning performance in October that earned her gold against some of the world’s most elite athletes.

Her victory marks a first in Guyana’s sporting history, as no local athlete had ever captured a World Championship title in bodybuilding before.

Welcoming the trailblazing athlete home were Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport Charles Ramson Jr., Minister within the Ministry Steven Jacobs, Director of Sport Steve Ninvalle, Assistant Director of Sport Franklin Wilson, and Guyana Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (GBBFF) President Roger Callender, alongside family members, friends, and well-wishers.

The Binous Classics is recognized as one of the largest and most respected bodybuilding shows in the Middle East, attracting top-tier competitors from across the globe.

Fung’s victory on such a prestigious stage underscores her exceptional talent and commitment, as well Guyana’s growing prominence in the international fitness and bodybuilding arena.
