Man arrested at Itaballi for possession of suspected cannabis
(Kaieteur News) – Ranks of the Guyana Police Force stationed at the Itaballi Police Checkpoint, Region 7, on Sunday arrested a 32-year-old man, following the discovery of a quantity of suspected cannabis in his possession.
Reports indicated that at about 07:20hrs, ranks were inspecting vehicles passing through the checkpoint, when a motorcar arrived and was searched. What was suspected to be narcotics was found and a passenger admitted it was his.
The suspected narcotics were seized and the man was informed of the offense and arrested. The suspected cannabis was weighed in his presence and amounted to 27.6 grams and was subsequently lodged as evidence.
The suspect remains in custody as investigations continue.
