Sterner measures should be implemented against trucks
Dear Editor,
Was the dislodged truck wheel fatal accident described as a freak accident an act of God or sheer negligence and incompetence? I say it was the latter.
How could the driver not recognise the signs that something was drastically wrong with the truck? Now an innocent life is lost. This is pure madness and for too long truck drivers in particular have been involved in serious and fatal accidents. It is high time sterner measures be instituted against this type of road user. This in no way negates culpability of owners.
My condolences to the grieving family.
