Kaieteur News – Police have issued a wanted bulletin for a Sophia businessman accused of raping a child after he failed to show-up in court on September 17, 2025. The wanted man was identified as Timothy Fraser, 32, of ‘C’ Field, Sophia Squatting Area, Georgetown.
Fraser was released on station bail while investigators awaited a forensic interview to complete the case file against him. Initially, he was granted $200,000 bail but remained in police custody for six days when he could not pay the amount.
Police resorted to reducing the bail amount so that he can have pre-trial liberty.
Fraser was arrested on September 6, 2025 for allegedly raping a child under the age of 16. The forensic interview was later obtained and police sent the case file for legal advice on September 16.
“…After gaining advice for him to appear before the court on 2025-09-17 (September 17), when the matter was called, and he failed to appear, efforts were made yesterday (Friday) to serve a summons on him for court, but he could not be located at his Sophia home,” police said.
Reports are that the businessman left for the interior and as a result, the wanted bulletin was prepared.
