Kaieteur News – The People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C) is in the lead with votes from the General and Regional Elections 2025, according to the tabulated numbers released by the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM).
On Wednesday, GECOM posted the tabulated voted by region to its Facebook page. In Region Two, APNU took 1,835, AFC 91, FGM 147, PPP, 1784 and WIN 7400. Region Three saw APNU with 8992, AFC with 322, the Assembly for Liberty Party (ALP) taking 138, FEGM 522, PPP 48055 and WIN 12969.
Over in Region Four, APNU took 46956, AFC got 1765, ALP 497, FGM 2431, PPP 87536 and WIN 41607. Region Five saw APNU taking 6480, AFC 208, ALP 58, FGM 128, PPP 18432 and WIN 5816.

Headed to the interior, in Region Eight, APNU received 76, AFC57, PPP 2872 and WIN 2562. In Region Nine, APNU got 450, AFC 192, PPP 9938 and WIN 4817. In the region that is home to the mining town of Linden, Region 10 APNU got 5334, AFC 210, ALP 85, FGM 662, PPP4260 and WIN 10458.
In total, the PPP received 242,498 votes, WIN received 109,066, APNU 77, 998, AFC 3610, ALP 969 and FGM 4326.
The PPP managed to secure eight out of the 10 regions of Guyana with newcomer WIN close on its heels in most of them. Region 10 normally an APNU stronghold was won by WIN.
Unfortunately for the largest opposition party, their support appeared to have declined drastically as not only did they not secure any region but the number of votes have significantly declined from 2020.

As an ex-Guyanese, I would like to congratulate the people of Guyana for a civic and peacefully election and the PPP/C for their win.
Guyana has improved tremendously since the PPP/C took office 5 years ago. However, I would like to see the country improve the following areas:
1. Crime
Guyana must address the high crime in Guyana. Too many businesses and individuals are being a victim of crime. Suggest to offer firearms to businesses and responsible individuals. Also, to increase the security (police) and to have more police stations across the country.
2. Road accident.
Why are there so many been killed or injured on the road. It’s time to address aggressive driving and to enforce speed limit. Seems like people are driving as if they owned the road.
3. Cost of Living.
Why is a wealthy country has so many poor people. The PPP/C needs to address the cost of living.
4. Corruptions and Bribes (across all institutions)
This needs to be rooted out in order for Guyana to move forward and people have faith in the system.
I would love to come back to Guyana and owned a nice house and live there but very scared of the issues that I have listed above.
Please PPP/C, you must take address the day-to-day issue facing the Guyanese people. They deserved to live in dignity.
My God bless Guyana and its beautiful people.
