Five arrested for gun and ammo found in house
Kaieteur News – Police ranks on anti-crime mobile patrol duty on Sunday arrested five persons after they were found in a house with an illegal gun and ammunition in Guyhoc Park, Georgetown.
In a press release police said ranks had received certain information at about 15:50 hrs.
Sunday and proceeded to Lot 84 Guyhoc Park, where they found three males and two females in the house, along with an unlicensed 9mm pistol.
The ranks conducted a search of the house and found in the living room, under a chair cushion, a Glock 19 Taurus pistol with the serial number filed off, along with a magazine containing 16 live rounds of 9mm ammunition.
The five individuals (ages 52, 26, 25, 22, and 18) were all arrested and cautioned. They all denied having knowledge of the firearm and ammunition, police said.
They were escorted to the East La Penitence Police Station, where they were all placed into custody pending Investigation.
