Jockey dies after falling off horse at Guyana Cup
Dead: Jockey Kishawm Pereirra during one of his successful horse racing events
Kaieteur News – Tragedy marred one of the biggest horse racing events in Guyana on Sunday after an 18-year-old jockey fell to his death on the track.
Details are sketchy but the jockey has been identified as Kishawan Pereirra.
One of his recent successful races was back in March this year.
He had hopes of repeating that performance at the Guyana Cup 2025 on Sunday but unfortunately, he fell off his horse. It’s unclear what might have caused the incident. Eyewitnesses claimed that the lighting was poor.
A badly injured Pereira reportedly succumbed while receiving treatment for the injuries he sustained after falling from his horse. This is a developing story.
