Out of the 35 subjects being offered in Guyana for CSEC, the CEO declared that this year they have recorded improved performances in 15 subjects.
“So, 15 of those subjects had an improvement meaning this year’s figure is greater than last year’s. Five subjects remain constant, those did not change, and outstanding performances were noted in seven subjects where we had 90% and over,” he announced.

“In 2024, our math pass rate was 27%, I am pleased to inform you that in 2025 our math pass rate is now 32%. This is now an increase of 5%, which is significant in any aspect of education gain in a single year,” he declared.
For CAPE, the CEO said that this year 650 candidates from 13 secondary schools and three private centres sat the examinations. Last year, 721 candidates sat the exams.
“Our pass rate in 2024 was 92.57%, in 2025 it is 91.9% a very minimal decline,” Hussain announced.
