Kaieteur News has been able to confirm that a Baramita teen died last week Thursday after he was stabbed during a drunken brawl in the back lands of a Region One village.
Details surrounding the stabbing are sketchy at this time, but Kaieteur News was told that he was rushed to a health outpost at Baramita, North West District, Region One early Thursday. He was critical. The wound he received left his intestines protruding.
The identity of the victim is unknown at this time. However, Baramita residents are outraged because they believe that his life could have been saved. According to information received by this media entity, a request was made for an aircraft to have the victim medevaced to the city but there was none available at the time. The teen died while waiting on that plane on Thursday night. Investigation is ongoing.
