Venezuelan teen nabbed with cocaine in black bag

Kaieteur News – An 18-year-old Venezuelan national from Helena Number Two Mahaica, East Coast Demerara (ECD), was arrested on Wednesday for possession of 11 grams of cocaine.
Police said that ranks who were on patrol saw the teen standing on a bridge with a black one-strap bag hanging around his neck. A search was conducted and one transparent zip-lock bag containing seven parcels wrapped in black plastic and one white plastic wrapped together.
“When opened, the parcels contained pieces of hard, rock-like substance suspected to be cocaine. The Venezuelan national was cautioned, arrested and escorted to Mahaica Police Station, where the suspected cocaine was weighed and amounted to 11 grams,” police said.
The teen was placed in custody as investigations continue.
