Dear Editor,
Kaieteur News – A fantastic Trinidad sprinter, Jerene Richards, created history at the Commonwealth Games Track & Field Events 4 X 400 meters Event. He displayed relentlessness, as the anchor leg, while his team-mate Dwight Hillaire created sensation with his explosive start. Botswana, Kenya, and Jamaica were left behind in the dust! I encourage my fellow Guyanese to view the race.
Election 2025 has the potential to motivate the youth of our next, the Beta generation. The aforesaid sprint race, where the most unexpected Victory happened, earned through unity and team excellence, is a far cry from the unity games we see in Guyana (Forward Guyana Movement – FGM merging with Vigilant Political Action Committee- VPAC and The People’s Movement (PM) (A Partnership for National Unity -APNU with People’s National Congress (PNC), Guyana Action Party (GAP), Working Peoples Alliance (WPA), etc.) (Alliance For Change (AFC) with Sharma) (We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) with A New and United Guyana (ANUG), (People’s Progressive Party (PPP) with CIVIC), et cetera.
Fragmented pieces of groupings can never assist a country in a path claiming it’s heading towards unity, solidarity, and brother/sisterhood. How could it? By examining the unfolding events, including entertainment rallies, discourses, advocacy Outreaches, and Literature dissemination trips, we observe political leaders during the Campaign season as busy as bees. Partaking in a lot of Partying – Fun Day/BBQ happening, Outreaches and Walk-abouts highlighting of Villagers’ problems and heated Exchanges of groupings at various parts of Guyana. What is/are the Solution(s) – what are the real issues. The Guyanese populace – more than half are suffering and need leaders now more than ever. Fifteen years ago, few children had smartphones. Ten years ago, 80% had shifted from a play-based childhood to a phone-based one.
In conclusion, apart from WIN, AFC, and FGM, etc., the APNU approach represents the strongest body of advocates and workers lacking nothing, has the strongest unity to match/outmatch the incumbent, thus, in my humble belief, is the sole thorn on the Incumbent’s radar. When Jerene Richards saw a threatening opponent gaining distance, on his radar, Botswana, what did he do – he galloped to the tape, unreachable! It was simply superb. The results will prove likewise come September 2nd – superb!
Best Regards,
M. Shabeer Zafar
