Dear Editor,
Kaieteur News – I wish to congratulate my friends and acquaintances Eden Corbin, Ronald Daniels, Onix Duncan, Vanessa Thomas, Dr. Dexter Todd and Saiku Andrews, who are notably among the young faces on the list of candidates for the A Partnership For National Unity.
The party’s leader, Mr. Aubrey Compton Norton, has made it pellucid that he recognises the importance and feasibility of youth representation and leadership.
It is crucial to realise that the party was going through a period of resurgence, which has led to it emerging more combative than ever with assets like Eden Corbin, Dexter Todd, and others who will surely perform well in whatever positions are bestowed upon them.
We cannot negate the fact that our young people are the next future leaders, and we must be willing to offer our unrelenting support.
While we may have more information because of the digitalisation and rapid technological evolution, this does not mean that we cannot ask for or accept advice when needed.
Certainly, we must be led by our seniors, who would have had more experience and understood the dogma of politics and policy development.
Let us not forget that youths are the bastion of change, and we must unhesitatingly be part of that change and build a better Guyana that is free from injustice and dystopia.
Conclusively, I once again wish my friends and acquaintances nothing but the best in their political endeavours and wish to remind them of a prominent Latin quote, “Tempora mutantur etnos mutanmur in illis,” which translates to “Times change, and we change with them”.
Regards,
Antonio Dey
