Kaieteur News – A 23-year-old man of Turkeyen, East Coast Demerara died following a shooting spree in his home early Thursday morning.
Dead is Joshua Taylor. Reports reaching Kaieteur News are that he might have suffered a mental breakdown and reportedly armed himself with his father’s licensed gun.
He allegedly went on a shooting spree at his home and had family members running for cover. Police were called in and he allegedly began shooting at them as well. Kaieteur News understands that police were able to restrain him after returning fire.
Up to Press time, the Guyana Police Force had not yet released a statement on the matter to clarify if he had been hit during the exchange of gunfire with police. Kaieteur News was able to confirm with family members that he died after being rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC). Investigations are still ongoing.
