Kaieteur News – Nineteen-year-old St. Lucian, Condoleezza Henry who was arrested on Sunday after an unlicensed firearm was found in her home, was on Wednesday remanded to prison on three charges.
Henry, who resides at Guyhoc Squatting Area with 29-year-old Kristoff Nicholson, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court before acting Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty.
According to a statement from the Guyana Police Force (GPF), Henry and Nicholson were both wanted for a robbery under arms/attempted murder committed on Claudius Fraser, a 69-year-old operations manager at Caliber Security Service.
During Wednesday’s court hearing, Henry pleaded not guilty to the charges which alleged that on July 6, 2025 at Guyhoc squatting area, she had in her possession a .32 revolver and matching ammunition and one spent shell without being the holder of a firearm license.
It was also alleged that she, while in the company of another on June 20, 2025, on Princess Street Lodge, Georgetown, she robbed Fraser of .32 revolver valued $165,300 and $495,000 for a total value of $660,300 while being armed with a knife.
The accused was not required to plead to the indictable charge which alleged that on the same day, at the said address, she unlawfully wounded Fraser with intent to murder him.
Henry told the court that the firearm belonged to her child father.
The prosecutor objected to bail due to the serious nature of the offence and the need to preserve public safety. The prosecution said the victim was hospitalised and is scheduled for surgery.
Magistrate McGusty denied Henry bail and the matter was adjourned to July 30, 2025.
