‘Lilwattie’ gets $80,000 bail for robbery with violence
Accused Orwin Fraser at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on Friday
Kaieteur News – Twenty-Two-year-old Orin Fraser called ‘Lilwattie’ was released on $80,000 bail for a robbery with violence charge.
Fraser appeared on Friday at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court before Acting Chief Magistrate, Faith McGusty who read the charge.
He was not required to plead to the indictable charge which alleged that on April 10, 2025 on King Street, Georgetown; he robbed Melvile Mark of one cellular phone valued at $78,000, one black purse valued at $5,000 and $15,000 cash, total value of $98,000. It was noted that at the time, either before or immediately after the robbery, Fraser used personal violence towards Mark.
The prosecution stated that the defendant is no stranger to the court and the parties are known to each other through Facebook.
Magistrate McGusty granted Fraser bail and the matter was adjourned to August 8, 2025.
