Kaieteur News – Dem boys seh de Constitution Reform Commission looking fuh a legal research officer — but when yuh read de ad, yuh gon feel dem really looking fuh a one-man army. If yuh got cape, tights, and a PhD, plus some superpower pon de side, then dis job is fuh you.
De ad seh de person got to conduct legal research pon international law, treaties, case law, and everything from Roman law to Law and Order: SVU. But wait! That is just de warm up. After you done dig through all dem legal books, dem want you write detailed reports, prepare policy briefs, AND provide legal opinions like you is a one-man legal think tank.
But dat ain’t all! Yuh also got to advise de Commission, monitor legal developments (maybe with binoculars?), attend consultations across Guyana, and still got time to liaise with civil society, manage stakeholder engagement, and draft recommendations like yuh is Parliament, Ministry of Legal Affairs and GECOM in one.
Dem boys seh de ad got more demands than a wedding list. De person must be a legal scholar, a public speaker, a researcher, a PR expert, a travelling consultant, and an all-round genius. Yuh must write, speak, and possibly dance in legalese. And fuh all that, dem ain’t even mention salary — maybe is free food and “thank you fuh your service”?
Qualifications? A law degree — but not just any! Preferably a Master’s too. And yuh must be tech-savvy, experienced, mobile, and still got time to prepare PowerPoint presentations fuh every meeting. Dem boys seh even ChatGPT woulda need a vacation after reading dis.
If anybody actually get dis job and survive six months, dem boys seh de President must pin a medal pon dem chest. Because it gon tek heroism, superhuman stamina, and a good pair of running shoes to keep up.
Dem boys seh if yuh applying, at least carry yuh own cape. And tell dem boys where yuh does buy yuh Red Bull — cause dem sure yuh gon need cases of it.
Talk half. Leff half
