Kaieteur News – The government through the Ministry of Public Works is planning to construct steel sheet pile river defence along the Pomeroon riverbank at Charity in Region Two at an estimated cost of $1.2 billion.
The project which recently opened at the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB) office revealed that six contractors have applied for the contract. The contractors submitted bids ranging from $1 billion to $1.1 billion.
The ministry will also be rehabilitating a section of the timber jetty and low ramp at the Parika Stelling in Region Three. These works are estimated to cost $61 million.
