Azruddin Mohamed is undoubtedly a trump card that voters can wield in just 89 days at the Polls.

Criminal law and civil law stand as the two principal divisions of the legal system, one addressing crimes against the state or public, and the other handling disputes between individuals or corporations.

The interplay between these two can create compelling overlaps. When a single act results in both a public offense and a private injury—such as in the notorious O.J. Simpson and Eagleson cases—criminal and civil charges are pursued concurrently. Navigating this complex legal landscape is essential for crafting an effective strategy that abides by both sets of rules and standards of evidence.

In Azruddin’s situation, we must scrutinize the implications of this overlap, especially given the significant political implications. The critical questions surrounding the motives and timing of these legal proceedings cannot be ignored; they are essential for understanding whether they serve justice or a politically charged agenda.

Public figures must be granted the right to a fair trial and be presumed innocent.
