Kaieteur News- Wednesday come and de sky open up like a woman crying at a funeral. Rains fall like it vex with de whole country. People had to wade through water like Moses parting de Red Sea—but instead of parting, de sea just sit down pon de road and seh, “Try pass me now!”
One man decide after that soaking, he done with de nonsense. Thursday morning he put on he best pants, shine he long boots, and grab de big black umbrella like he going to war with de weather gods. He walk to work proud-proud, umbrella cock high like he expecting a category five storm.
But guess what? Not a drop! De sun come out like it had a grudge against he umbrella. People watching he and whispering, “He look like he miss de memo.” By lunchtime, he sweating like a sinner in church, walking round wid de umbrella like a shame flag.
Dem boys seh is one thing wid this weather—it does wait till you leave de umbrella home, then it send rain down like judgement day.
De same man seh today, Friday, “Nah, I not carrying umbrella. Is dry season now.” But hear nah, de moment he step out without it, mark meh words—rain gon pelt like it want to punish he soul.
Is like de weather got a personal beef with he. Is a game of cat and mouse: you carry de umbrella, sun does bun yuh; you leave it, rain does baptize yuh.
Dem boys seh Guyana weather is not about forecast—it’s about vibes. De rain and sun playing tag team, and you is de joke.
So leh de man try he luck today. But he better know—if he leave de umbrella home, is then de heavens gon open and teach he a next lesson in humility.
And if yuh see he soaking wet later, don’t laugh too hard. Next week, it could be you.
Dem boys seh, walk wid yuh umbrella. Even if it don’t rain, it can block sun—or shame.
Talk half. Leff half
