Kaieteur News- On Wednesday, three residents of Linden, Region 10, were released on $350,000 bail each for armed robbery.
The defendants, 19-year-old Muhamad Bakker of Powiese Crescent, Amelia’s Ward, 28-year-old Javon LaFleur of Self Help, Amelia’s Ward, and 19-year-old Elijah Gilkes of South Amelia’s Ward, all appeared at the Linden Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Russell Liverpool.
Bakker, LaFleur and Gilkes were not required to plead to the charge.
According to a statement from the Guyana Police Force (GPF), on May 17, five masked men, armed with handguns and cutlasses, allegedly robbed 38-year-old Guan Xiang, the owner of Xiang Wang Chinese Supermarket, located at Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden of an undisclosed amount of cash.
The accused were granted bail on condition that they report to the Mackenzie Police Station twice every month and be indoors between 17:30hrs and 06:30hrs.
The matter was adjourned to June 27, 2025.
