Sunil Mangru crowned National 9-Ball Pools champion

Kaieteur Sports- In a thrilling finale to the Cue Sport Association of Guyana (CSAG) and Fireball National 9-Ball Pools Championships, Sunil Mangru emerged as the 2025 National Champion, outplaying a talented field in the country’s largest and most prestigious 9-ball tournament to date.

Fireball sponsored National 9-Ball Pool Tournament concluded in style as the winners share the spotlight at the presentation.

The action-packed final rounds unfolded last Saturday at Suraj Sports Bar, which hosted the quarterfinals, semifinals, and championship match. The tournament, which kicked off in early April, drew 64 of Guyana’s best pool players from districts across the country, showcasing a high level of skill, precision, and competitive spirit.

Mangru clinched the top spot after a series of intense matchups, with Steven Persaud finishing as runner-up. Kevin Mangru and Kamil Husain shared third place honours, while Jerry Josie, Hakeem Ali, Mario Albert, and Saif Persaud rounded out the top eight in joint fifth.

The success of the tournament reflects the growing popularity of cue sports in Guyana and the rising standards of local talent. Organizers hailed the event as a milestone for the sport, citing strong participation and enthusiastic spectator support throughout.

The championship was made possible through generous sponsorship from Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey, Websource Guyana, Peerless Solutions, Global Imaging Services, Mandy Mangru, Andy’s Auto Spares, Sunil & Son Pool Bar, Suraj Sports Bar, and Embassy American Style Bar.
