Kaieteur News- The family of 11-year-old Adriana Younge, who tragically and suspiciously died at the Double Day International Hotel pool, is considering having her body flown overseas for a second forensic autopsy as they continue to seek answers about her death.
This was disclosed by the family’s attorney, Dr. Dexter Todd, during an interview with Kaieteur News on Friday. Dr. Todd confirmed that the family has not ruled out the possibility of international transportation of Adriana’s body for examination by independent pathologists.
Adriana’s lifeless body was discovered on April 24 by her father, Subrian Younge, in the hotel’s swimming pool—just 20 hours after she was reported missing during a family trip to Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo.
A post-mortem examination (PME) was conducted on April 28 by a three-member international pathology team: Dr. Shubhakar Karra Paul from Barbados, Dr. Gary Collins, Chief Medical Examiner of Delaware (USA), and Dr. Glenn Rudner of Mount Sinai Hospital. The team concluded that the child’s cause of death was drowning.
However, Dr. Todd has confirmed that the family is now pursuing an independent review of the footage of the autopsy. They have since contacted the Caribbean Association of Medical Councils (CAMC), requesting that renowned Trinidadian pathologist Dr. Hubert Daisley return to Guyana to participate in the process.
“My understanding is that an application was made to the medical board for Mr. Daisley to be accepted to examine, or to practice medicine, whether for that limited period or not, or to be able to review the body,” Dr. Todd stated.
“We’ve heard that the medical board will meet on the 12th of May. When that happens, we hope that Dr. Daisley, as he has done in the past, will be given the requisite permission to review the body,” the lawyer told Kaieteur News.
In addition to Dr. Daisley, the family is exploring a second opinion from two U.S.-based pathologists.
“There is another pathologist from Washington, D.C., who has collaborated with a colleague in Atlanta,” Dr. Todd explained while noting that, “They are coordinating whether they will fly in to join Dr. Daisley to review the body, or they will assist from their end to have the body flown to them.”
He emphasized the seriousness of the family’s pursuit of truth, noting that they are prepared to walk the extra mile to find out what happened to Adriana.
“That’s how serious this is getting,” he said. ” If there’s any difficulties presented, where they are not given the requisite permission to review this body on behalf of the family …because this is what the family wants… The family will consider their support to have the body flown out.”
According to Dr. Todd, the U.S. pathologists are hoping to observe the examination, possibly via Zoom, rather than conduct a complete re-autopsy. Their review would focus on specific concerns raised during the initial examination.
“They’re looking at things like how the body floated, how it was presented, and in relation to the marks that remain on certain parts of the body, which has raised concerns to them, and that they are saying it requires a second eye, to be sure, and that is what they are looking at,” Dr. Todd explained.
He also emphasized that Dr. Daisley is motivated by professional integrity and a desire to provide closure to the family.
“They want to be able to say, ‘You can rest assured that this is what happened to your child,’” Dr. Todd said, adding, “That from the tests done by the three pathologists, they were correct when they did X, Y, and Z.”
While Dr. Todd made it clear that neither he nor the family is questioning the integrity of the original pathologists, he acknowledged public concerns.
“There’s been a number of things that have led the family to believe that there exists a possibility that people can be somehow be infiltrated through various pressures and, you know, some people talked about whether the pathologist did the autopsy under form of fear, you know, there was chaos outside the GPHC, did that affect their thoroughness?” Todd explained.
When asked about funeral plans, Dr. Todd said the family remains resolute.
“The burial—and I repeat the exact words of the family—will happen when they have answers,” he said. “When they put her down and say goodbye, they want to know what happened to her. That’s all.”
He continued, “They have moved from a stage in which they are joint forces with all families and individuals around the world to make this death not be a wasted death. And so that after this death, they are not only going to be a uniting of our people on very strong policies that require that our lives in this country matter, and that we demand that at every stage that we are given the protection we need, even in death. That our death… that anyone’s death will be treated with a level of professionalism and urgency, as any other person in any other country.”
The family had originally scheduled Adriana’s funeral for May 5, 2025, but postponed it, citing the lack of clarity surrounding her death. Her body remains at Sandy’s Funeral Home.

Could all these EYES miss something in Adrianna’s autopsy ?
Did some fall asleep when this procedure was taking place ? Then, his/her
