Kaieteur News- When does a war stop being a war and mutate into a wipeout? What the Israeli war machine is doing has ‘wiping out the Palestinians from the face of the earth’ written on it. Historic lands that were coveted long before 1948, the year of Israel’s statehood. It was statehood foisted on a people, with the backing of many Western powers. Backing that tore the fabric of Palestinian existence apart, and sent them scattering across the Middle East, then wider Africa, and last to the ends of the earth. The catastrophe for the Palestinians that began then rages even more feverishly and bloodily today. What started as war has now marched past that already ugly word.
What is happening today in Gaza does not fit the definition of war, as recognized by civilized people. Even in the worst wars, there is a pause so that the wounded can be withdrawn to safety, hopefully nursed back to some semblance of life. This standard has not been adhered to by the Israeli generals, the soldiers on the ground, or the political leaders in Tel Aviv. Even vengeance has its limits, where blood lusts are stated after a while, the guns go silent, the bombs stop dropping. It hasn’t been so, with hospital after hospital bombed to pieces, the dying hustled to a quicker death, and those with a chance of survival having that plug callously pulled. What is currently happening in Gaza, and has the land of Palestine become a shooting gallery where Palestinians are treated as target practice? Can that still qualify for the caption of war, or has it long earned the rightful description of war crimes?
The parts of the world that still care have employed such scorching words as ‘massacres’ and ‘holocausts’ and ‘genocides’, and all have the substance of accuracy. For those have been the realities under which the Palestinians have lived for over a year and a half, and with more of the same to come. When food convoys are bombed or prevented from going to those who are in dire need of relief, war gets kicked into the gutter, and war crimes have the spotlight shone on them. One food convoy bombed, or one set of relief workers killed, may be termed by the generous to be an accident. But, who with some spark of humanity in them, can interpret such repeated bombings and continuing killings as not part of what is sinister and utterly criminal?
War crimes are so distinctive that they are easily detected. Noncombatants and civilians are protected, should never be part of free fire zones, part of any war plans or war targets. But they have been, and we at this paper make it our duty to present this dirty war fought by the Israelis, and which succeeds in finding lower and lower ground. The helpless, the most vulnerable, have already been destroyed in property and family, but that is not enough for the Israeli war machine. Their spirits have to be devastated and drained of any resistance, so that the horror inflicted on Israel on October 7, 2023, will never be repeated. So, even the refugee camps are targeted in the hunt to eradicate fighters carrying the Hamas brand and the Palestinian cause in their hearts, deep in their genes.
From a war of self-defence to a war of vengeance, to a war now overrun with the barbarities that characterize war crimes. What is going on in Gaza has too many elements of ethnic cleansing for that to be ignored or soft-pedalled. Like the holocaust and massacres, and genocide, ethnic cleansing is also a war crime. War, at its best, departed Gaza many long months ago. In its place has come war in its worst rendition, and so we point to the war crimes being perpetrated against the Palestinian people in Gaza. How can such not be, when from babies to the elderly, and everyone in between, are not spared the remorseless rain of bombs and bullets?
Today, the Israelis are enjoying the greatest hunting game of all. It is the hunting and killing of men, women, and children. If that isn’t a war crime, then nothing is.

It is not the Israeli War Machine doing this dirty war.
They have been backed by the USA, the EU, UK, India with weapons, bombs
of all descriptions…they are part and parcel ganged up against the people
of Gaza, the Palestinians.
And, everyone stood still- they have been talking, talking, talking, talking
whilst the killing machine of the gangs continued the elimination, war crimes
in Gaza.
