(Kaieteur News) – Dem boys seh some people does go to prison and lose dem freedom, but dem never lose dem talent fuh tell lies. In fact, some of dem coulda teach a whole university course in deception.
Dem boys see dis one pun Tik Tok. One prisoner was talking to a woman on de phone, and de woman apparently thought she had found herself a man with money, class and a good address.
“Where you living?” she ask.
“I living in a gated community,” he tell she proudly. “Security tight. I does have to call dem fuh buzz people in.”
“Sounds fancy,” she tell he.
Fancy? Dem boys seh if she only know! De only gate he passing through is one with iron bars, and de only community he living in is one where everybody does get a number instead of an address. Just then, a guard holler, “You have a visitor!”
De man quickly tell de woman, “Babe, I got to go. My legal team is here. We have a case to discuss.” Legal team! Dem boys seh some men does dress up a simple prison visit until it sound like a board meeting at a multinational corporation. De only brief he might have is one containing his court papers. But this is how some relationships does start nowadays. A man tell you he can’t meet you because he under pressure at work. Little you know, he under pressure from a prison warden.
He tell you he can’t talk long because his movements are restricted. You thinking he working in a highly secured, top-secret government job. Meanwhile, he standing in a cell waiting fuh his turn at de telephone. And when he tell you he planning to come out soon, don’t start shopping for wedding clothes. He might be talking about bail, parole, or simply being released from solitary confinement!
Dem boys seh, in Guyana, everybody claiming to be a big shot. One man got a mansion, another got a luxury SUV, and another got a gated community with free meals, and security guards who never sleep. The difference is that some people paying a mortgage to live in luxury, while others paying a lawyer to get out of it. So, ladies, before you fall in love with a man who claim he living behind security gates, ask him one important question: “Baby, when I come to visit, should I bring champagne, or should I bring your lawyer?”
