Kaieteur News- A construction worker was on Friday remanded to prison, after pleading not guilty to two counts of robbery under arms charges.
The defendant, 27-year-old Gray Thompson of Guyhoc Park, Georgetown, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court before Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore.
It is alleged that on April 28, 2025, at Aubrey Barker Road and Bluesackie Drive South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, Thompson being in the company of another, used a gun and robbed Shevon Yearwood of one Amazon Tablet valued $22,000, one Samsung 05 cell phone valued $28,000 and $50,000 cash; total value of $100,000.
It is also alleged that on the same day at the said address, he also used a gun to rob Alin Lin of $300,000 cash.
The prosecution objected to bail due to the seriousness of the offence. It added that there is CCTV footage of the accused committing the act.
Thompson told the court that he was shot in his foot by police. He was remanded until May 21, 2025.
